Without naming names, I bought some goods off of a member here. I paid for them the day I was told they were mine for the buying (september 6th).

Anyway, that was 9 days ago, and despite numerous messages, and a couple of e-mails, I've heard NOTHING at all back from the seller. They have been active on head-fi, acoording to their profile, since the funds were sent to them.

So after 9 days now, it it too early to start a paypal dispute? I'm out a consideralbe (to me) chunk of money here.

opinions?

If the person has been that non communicative, then I would start a paypal dispute, especially if they have been active on the site.

File a paypal dispute and cotact a mod/admin. They will fix things up real fast. Dont let out their name yet, that should be up to a mod/admin to decide. They may have a reason for not shipping. Just do the above and you will be allset.

Sorry to hear!
As many others I suggest you file a PayPal dispute (if you paid through them), and hope they can recover your money.

Maybe he died? You know, it does happen. See if he is posting anywhere on the site. If so, give him hints: WHERE'S MY STUFF, YOU @#$%^&*()???

Man, this ticks me off to no end. Why can't folks be honest? If someone paid for the goods, then ship them to the buyer!!!!

To the seller: SHIP THE GOODS TO THE BUYER!!! And, if there is a valid reason for not shipping, then SHOW SOME CONSIDERATION FOR THE BUYER AND EXPLAIN YOURSELF!!!

To the OP: I would definitely file the Paypal dispute. I hope everything turns out OK for you!

If the person and has been on Head-Fi and chosen to ignore your PMs and emails, I think you should file a Pay Pal dispute and post bad feedback towards them. I believe you have given them more than enough time to respond with a reason. Even if the items haven't shipped, the least the individual could do is respond to your PMs and be honest with you. This is totally unacceptable.

I don't believe the mods will fix this up real fast. Different sites work differently and from past experience here, naming the person in question usually has the best results. I don't know what the mods could really do in a situation like this.

Good Luck! I hope you get things worked out. I really dislike Scammers or inconsiderate people like this.

I say you release his name and have the Head-fi hoards have a field day, or two or three

I agree with the others; start a dispute immediately. And, if it is who I think it might be, I think they currently have other items for sale, so you may want to post a warning to other potential buyers in their FS threads.

I think you have every right to call the person out publicly but that just depends on how you want to deal with it. As for filing the claim yeah doing it asap is a good idea. If you paid through paypal credit card its even better, I haven't heard a story yet where a credit card company has not protected someone from a scam. Its always they give you your money back and then go after the scammer right away. Paypal can only take the money back if it is still in the account which is not very often in these kinds of cases.

it's pretty easy to figure out who you made the transaction with. that person has good feedback, although no recent transactions. does that matter. he has been active though and even posted recently, so it is odd that he has not responded to your pms.

not sure what i would do. of course you want to protect yourself, so maybe taking some paypal steps is appropriate. hope it works out. keep us updated.
