I have an itch to buy a new pair of headphones. Nope, I don't need a new pair! But.... why not?!
So I'm looking for thoughts on something to add to my collection.
Here are some parameters:

USE:
- Mostly used for gaming but must be good for music

STYLE:
- Open to open, semi-open, closed back over ear

ATTRIBUTES:
- Not too much treble (I'm very sensitive to treble - even at my age :)
- Clear mids

PRICE:
- Mid-fi range $150 - $225 would be ideal
- but... open to recommendations up to $400

CURRENT LINEUP with comments:
- AKG 7XX - meh... my first real venture into mid-fi several years ago.. thought they were great... nope...
--- too much treble / to V-shape
--- but good for gaming when eq-ed

- Sennheiser 6XX
--- Love them for classical music
--- Not great for gaming but I really like the 'recessed' treble
--- I'm fine with their bass

- Sennheiser 58X
--- Good all around headphone. I like them

- Beyerdynamic DT770 80ohm
--- too V-shaped
---- I tamed them with lots of eq

- Beyerdynamic DT990 80ohm
--- way too much treble (and bass too)
--- too V-shaped
---- I tamed them with lots of eq

Headphones that have I've been thinking about:
--- Beyerdynamic DT880 600ohm (yep I have plenty of amp)
--- A set of planars - Hifiman?(X4? 400 series? 5XX?).... Monoprice? Other?
--- Meze something... No idea why other than I keep seeing a pair of closed back on Drop.com

Thank you!
