Is X-Can v2 worth it for $170 for use with AKG K271S?

I have the AKG K271S ordered and was wondering if the X-Cans v2 were worth $170-$200 second hand for use with these headphones? The reason why I like the X-Can v2 is because I have a Musical Fidelty X series amplifier and they would look great together.

IMHO the 271S doesn't benefit a great deal from amplification. Some disagree, but I've tried from a range of amps and didn't think the difference was worthwhile.
Also, the Xcans V2 is a fairly bright sounding amp, probably not the best match.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. I don't think I can afford an amp anyway, but I'm just looking at options.

somebody just bid 199 on it.
at that price i don't know
just save the money and go buy the MG Head if you like tubes much.
else there are some SS amps out there which have character and a nice sound to them
have a look at the talisman audio T-3H.
This amp has it all over the XCans V3 and matched the Sugden headmaster.
It doesn't give much and takes nothing

I also have the AKG271S and was considering getting an amp.

Probabley the Rega Ear, or maybe a Creek OBH21 (not SE).

Anyone tried these combos?
Not worth the investment?
