Yes, that photo is not of real spiders. Red-back spiders are often found in outdoor toilets, back-yard sheds and other, similar places. If you have a garden shed, say, with gloves in it...before you put the gloves on you have to stamp on them just in case there are spiders inside.

Most often though, you might see harmless house spiders (Google "huntsman spider") which, while large and scary, can't bite you.

I'm pretty sure huntsman spiders can bite you, and hurt like hell, but they're not venomous.

Yes, summer is the season for Funnel Webs. You also have to be careful of shoes left outside, bang the heel on the ground before putting your foot in there
