So i'm checking out my ER-4s that I got second hand. The seller mentioned that he did replace one of the filters.

I'm guessing it was the left channel as that filter looks very clean.. However, when inspecting the right channel, I see a tiny bit of wax, and a small strand of hair?! on it? crazy.. I could not see this with my naked eye.

So should I replace the filter on my right channel?

As promised, here are some pics of what i'm talking about:

*they are kinda big, so I linked them.

I can't believe you're asking this question.

(I haven't followed your link, looking at large pictures of other people's ear wax isn't appealing to me)

Stan that is one impressive digital camera. Somebody should show me how to work those things, I have a 3.3 megapixel Vivitar digicam and all my pictures come out blurry hah.

Anyway, It's probably a good idea to change the right filter. I changed the left ones maybe a day or two ago but I didn't replace the right one.

I didn't notice much difference, perhaps a very slight channel imbalance and so I didn't change it. You should though, just for consistency.

That's the first thing I thought too: What camera is he using? Nice pics (err, not talking about the subject matter!)

I say yes, please change them! The worrying itself would drive me crazy.

Believe it or not, i've seen more disgusting things emailed to me at my work account. I really just wanted a reference point from other ety users.

anyways, I changed the other filter. I noticed no difference, but I guess its nice to have a fresh set of filters on

The camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4500

jude- Yeah, I saw that. but looking at it with the naked eye does not look like a crack. Both left and right assemblys have it. Looks kinda like the plastic mold..

I took another pic, and it kinda looks like an imperfection in the plastic.

on a relative scale, i'm very shocked to hear such good sounds come from such a tiny hole!

After changing a form tip on ER4Ps I had a long scratch mark that looked like a crack upon the first inspection but I soon found out it was only a scratch from that hard vinyl tube inside the form tip. You can imagine the scare I got

2 days after getting my pair.

Nice detail on the photo. Ahh... a nikon, that explains it. My Fuji needs plenty of light to get detail like that.

ya just need to mess around with the exposure levels (do it manually).
