I found a breitling on ebay for an unbeliveable price.

The is a strong possiblity that it could be a fake. However for the following reasons I have my doubts and hope it is not.

1)The watch seems to be old atleats 30 years .Am quite sure not duplicates were the order of the day then.Defitnely not the chinese and the japanese ones.
2)Seems quite solid unlike duplicates which some how have a flimsy look to it.

3)Never seen a Breitling which looks like this.Duplicates are obviosuly made for the popular and the more well known models not some obsure ones.

I know i sound to optimistic but hey I ve comes across some really strange luck ppl had when it comes to auctions.

I have pics pleas ehave a look and let me know ....

Timezone, or Watchuseek. Another thing to be careful of, even if the outside is a Breitling, what about the inside? Sometimes you can get a Frankenwatch and not know it.

Timezone was instrumental in helping me buy two great watches. Good luck.

Those forums are great but they usually deal with gen watches so their knowledge of telling apart a gen and a fake is good but not excellent.

If you look hard enough you can find other forums where people collect replicas and those guys can spot fine details within seconds and tell you if it's a gen or replica.

Edit: Pretty sure it's a fake.

I have never seen a Breitling "navitimer Heritage" like that in my life.

Navitimer models have made their mark cause the employ a slide rule in their design, chances are you should see some form of a slide rule in any Navitimer old or new (some really old then maybe not). this watch has not slide rule.

the pic says "navitimer Heritage" on the face of the watch. 2001 was the first year i could find on a Breitling with this model name, here is more info

The case back seems to be the design of a newer Breitling, I have found nothing of the newer types to even come close to the look of this.

i would say its a fake esp if its at a good price..if its to good to be true then...

some good link for research.

That’s no vintage Breitling, and if it’s a modern one their styling has taken a big step backwards (if that was possible). ‘Navitimer Heritage’ I wonder what that is? The distinguishing feature of Navitimers (and the original Chronomats) is that they came with circular slide rules built into their bezels.

I’d bid £5 for the novelty value but otherwise don’t touch it.

Just my opinion.
