   There was a Foobar component that is supposed to do it, but it doesn't appear to be supported in the current version.

DVD-Audio Explorer is free and allows you to extract high resolution WAV files, which you can then transcode to FLAC (or whatever) with your program of choice.

Thanks, DVD Audio explorer works. The interface is a little clunky but beggars can't be choosers At least now my DVD-A's aren't totally obsolete
