Umm...
Like sticking the thing on the end of the headphone cord into the hole on the front of the TV?

Some kind of headphone amp, doesn't ahve ot be dedicated, just something with audio line in that has a headphone port, attached to audio outputs from the TV signial.
I have my TV set up with my stereo system and just use a headphone out from that. If this is a large TV you have, it probably has its own line audio outputs, otherwise, most VCRs will.
