Is there a cd-rom out there that plays SACD?

No. Sony and Philips don't want SACD to be copied, so they won't play in any CD ROM drives. Also, AFAIK no sound card can read SACD either.

i see it happening in the future. they cracked dvd's code (or stole the key from poorly-protected software) so i'm sure someday sacd will be cracked. i'm pretty sure you'd need a dvd-rom drive of some kind to read the information. from what i've seen though, dvd-rom's don't even recognize the discs.. so the only solution may be to hack the firmware.
