Is the Yamaha NP S303 and A-S301 a good combination for a newbie ?

Hi all,

Well today my Denon AVR X2000 started crashing on me after a little over 7yrs of heavy use. So now I am on the look out for a new network player that can handle DSD files and separate amp. Now at first I was considering the Yamaha RN303 with built in amp, but unfortunately it doesn’t have a phono stage for a turntable and while my turntable has a built in preamp, I thought it would be better to have a separate amp with phono stage for the potential to sound better. After some brief reading I found the NP303 which does everything I want and it just so happens that the A-S301 amplifier has a phono stage for my turntable as well as other connections and a DAC.

Can anyone here say if it is worth getting for a newbie in stereo ?

Many thanks
