Over the summer, I became pretty impressed with my cousin's 360 especially it's live feature. I remain sceptical if Sony will get it right on their first proper attempt even if I've been loyal to the Playstation franchise for years.
Anyway, I decided I want a 360, but I want to know if it is durable enough to fly some flights. I want to know if it is durable enough to fly from new york to korea and back in summer and winter vacations. As I said, I've seen the machine myself but I'm still scratching my head thinking whether it is durable enough for such flights.
Also, do you think it is alright that I take it onboard a plane with its full original packaging or would airport security will think I am trying to smuggle it? I became cautious after being questioned about my SR71 amp last year, you see.

I doubt they would have any problems with you taking an xbox, most people will recognize it, not true for a headphone amp in a little black box. All they see is a black thing with knobs sticking out, and if they dont know what it is, they would naturally get suspicious. I would think there would be no problems taking it on a flight, but just to be sure I would take it in a carry on bag.

You never know how they treat your luggage once it gets in their hands, I doubt they are very careful with it and it will probably get tossed around a little.

This may sound silly, but you can transport items far more delicate than an xbox 360 just by taking it as hand luggage, and never letting it leave from sight. The best way I think would be do get a steel / alu case with foam insert, and pack your xbox snuggly inside there. Somewhere around the net is a small guide detailing exactly which case is a good fit!

I would never entrust any electronic goods, especially multi-hundred dollar ones, to the cargo hold of an airplane.
