Is the Massdrop x AKG K7xx worth my upgrade?

Hey guys,

I currently have the Sennheiser HD558's that I use primarily for gaming (CS:GO, FPS shooters etc.).

But i have heard so many good reviews about the AKG K7xx's and am wondering whether they are worth upgrading to?

I would appreciate any feedback!

Might want to research this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/743280/the-akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-thread. See if anyone has compared to the HD558 or the HD598 (since the 598 is very similar to the 558).

I own both headphones.
Yes the AKG K7XX is worth the upgrade from the HD558 headphones.
But the AKG K7XX needs to be used with a decent headphone amplifier to sound their best.
 
An easier upgrade to the HD558 is the Soundmagic HP200.
The 32-Ohm HP200 is as easy to drive as the 50-Ohm HD558.
