If by "endgame" you mean "any more and I won't get much improvement for a lot more money," then I'm pretty sure it is.
I liked the lcd2c, but it’s not even my favorite in its price range. Everyone has different preferences, however.

Your question tracks a subject that just ABSOLUTELY chaps my hide!
NO ONE will ever admit to something that is NOT the upper 10% cost of a given manufacturers lineup to be capable of end game performance.The mentality is INGRAINED IN EVERY HUMAN that you MUST spend as much as asked to get the top tier of performance in whatever product you buy..IMO 80% of what so called Golden Ears hear that they claim is better performance is NOTHING but self justification & there are a TON of inexpensive options available today that offer end game performance at entry level pricing..If humans did not have the need for external validation of our worth the world would be a much better place..
