Is the Audioengine D1 worth the extra $100 over a FX-Audio DAC-X6

My Samsung TV has only optical out now running to my soundbar and no headphone jack, I am planning to add a DAC with optical input to solve the lack of headphone jack issue. I may also use it on my laptop but rarely there. I use my DT 770 straight out of FireHD10 so they would probably move to the DAC if I like the Treblab Z2 with the tablet more. Anyway what think ye?

Well I see so many comments with noise spikes from the D1 so I just pulled the trigger for a new FX DAC-X6 for $49 I think it was a no brainer free shipping included.
