Sitting in a bookstore last night listeing to tunes on my minidisc, a young Asian guy walks up to me and starts asking about my MDR-D77's. Where did I get them, how good do they sound, etc. The one strange thing he asked me was how did I know they were so good. I told him I make it a point to know what the good stuff is...

That would have been a good opportunity to introduce him to Head-Fi.org...

He could have been a head-fier, eggo collector, or just sony fan. It's great to hear someone in public even recognized and cared to ask you about your nice cans.

Btw a girl kept staring at my e2cs on the bus yesterday. Maybe she thought they were strange hearing aids?

I was chatting with a girl about Japanese music in class yesterday. I told her I'd play her some, but I only had in ear headphones. She then asked me if they were 'those expensive ones with the white flange thingies that go deep in your ear'. I was in shock for a couple seconds.

A couple weeks ago after a *sociology course*, someone started a conversation about headphones that block noise. The professor was quick to jump in and suggest Sure's and Ety's, specifically the ER-4's if we 'really want to hear detail in music'.

And in my engineering courses, everyone still listens to crap phones. Weird...

Maybe the world's starting to come around(well, except for the engineers)...

You realize that's the point where you ask for a date - or at least her Head-fi handle

couple of weeks back I just got on the train and some guy next to me pulls out Shure E3c's and start telling the other guy that was with him how great they are. I sit down and listen in... then I say 'are these Shure?' so the guy starts explaining how great they are and all, I smile and pull out my E5c's. We had a nice conversation about headphones, amps, CD players etc.

See, I thought about that. But then we'd need to run two amps. Which would require a splitter in between the source and the amps. The source isn't really going to care whether one or two amps are connected. But the quality of splitters vary. There’s a slight possibility it could change the sound. I'm just not sure I could live with that.

Way to think ahead! You made the right choice for sure.

Aw, man! You didn't know about the splitter that Grado makes? It's arguably the best cheap splitter out there, and I haven't heard anyone complain about it messing up sound quality. I also have a mini adaptor and 15' extension so I'm a little biased, but that splitter is what I call "the way to a woman's heart" if you're in a pinch chatting it up with a lady about headphones, of all things. It's either that, or you just let a girl listen to your cans for a bit. That's what I'd do if I didn't have a splitter on hand...
