Is splitiing headphone outut jacks with a Y splitter safe??

Is it safe to split my single jack input for headphone jack into two inputs for two headphones with a Y splitter safe to do with my RSA HR-2. It has only one headphone input jack but I want to compare and use two headphones at the same time. I am splitting the input to two input jacks with a Y splitter. Is this safe to my amp and /or my headphones.

hmm it will work but not sound good unless both headphones are highly effeciant. The max output current of the opamp used is 50mA at which performance will undoubtedly suffer and is rearly not enough for some lesser efficiancy headphones. http://www.analog.com/UploadedFiles/...eets/AD797.pdf

Also it really helps if they are the same kind. With a different resistance between the headphones it could damage the amp.
