Hi all,

I am thinking of purchasing a pair of SE210, but would like to know if it is a bassier pair of earphones than its brother, the E4C..
I am sure there are people here that owns these two iems, so chime in with your views.

Thanks.

I don't have the E4 anymore (I have the 210s) but from memory, I think the bass is about the same on both. The 2 areas which I think are different, are the midrange, which is slightly clearer on the E4, and the loudness levels. If I turned the volume high on the E4 I'd get a 'ringing' in my ears, but I don't get that with the 210s at all. It's easier on my ears at higher volumes

How about the sound staging for both earphones?

I remember feeling the E4's vocals were stuffed inside my head, but the 210s are a bit further 'up' making the soundstage feel bigger. Funny thing is that I sold the E4 because of the 'ringing', it was still in my head hours later and was quite distracting.
I then got the 210s, liked them a lot, and then kept thinking "Hmmm, I wonder if the E4 was better??" so I bought them again, (obviously

) did a quick side by side - kept the 210s and returned the E4, so I actually ended up preferring the 210s. I was quite surprised. E4 + acoustic is heaven and while the 210s don't do midrange clarity the same, it's definitely still good enough for me, plus it has its own very pleasant sound signature. I don't think you'd be disappointed, except with the fit. . .

That ringing sounds like its tinnitus, which you get from hearing damage. Might want to stop doing that.

Yes, I thought about that too, but it only happened with the E4. My ears are 'ring free' since changing over

My cable is fine, I'm sure it doesn't use the same materials as the 530. To be safe, ask me again in 6 months

I lost almost all output through my left earphone on my SE210's, and the cable insulation is ripped right next to the right earpiece.

Not too pleased. I need some treble booster Eq'ing, and then they sound nice and balanced... But the durability sucks.

Are you kidding? How long did you have them for? I guess you can get them replaced, although it's hardly the point. Wow, I'll keep an eye on mine

It's definitely better on the SE310s. Quite a different beast, but I like the new 310s!

Maybe try and have it replaced or exchanged.
