well, i´ve had my D2 for a few months now, i was one of the first ones to get it in europe from AMP in the UK, originaly used with a pair of sens CX300, which after 3-4 months stopped reproducing all base, the headphones were flat,

so i bought a pair of mylarone X3 from jaben, they sound great for the money, the problem is that i noticed that they started artifacting a bit with bass in rock and metal, and now with pop, i use the rock, pop and sometimes jazz freq EQ presets and always listen in volume settings between 10 and 15 depending on the song loudness, (out of 50),

now i know that the D2 has one of the most powerfull Headphone outs between daps, considering the 36mW per channel output, and i saw that the kenwood has 8mW per channel, so i was wondering becuase both CX300 and Mylarone X3 are 16ohm headphones, so, is the D2 killing my headphones ?

Probably not, assuming you're listening at normal levels. Of course, powering earphones, which at normal listening levels should have the D2 at about volume 10 of 50, with volume 50 out of 50 instead could damage the earphones. Did you do anything like that? Otherwise, I don't think the D2 damages your earphones. At least, in the half a year I've had my D2 my Shure E4 was never damaged by the D2 with substantial regular use.

i just wanted to make sure, im moving up to some q-jays soon enough, and i didnt want to spend 180 bucks on a pair of headphones before making sure,

then again, both x3´s and cx300 were 16ohm, the jays are 40ohm,
