Sigh, I just saw this ad for a Sony cd3000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/SONY-MDR-CD3000-/301089551987?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item461a55f673

-which is way too rich for me, but I had a like new cd3000 a few years ago and sold it for about $450 here- a great price at the time I couldn't refuse!

But now I miss that headphone on almost a daily basis, and I think I will never hear one again!!! No other headphone (I have had hundreds) has had this effect on me.
Am I just a crazy headfi-er or what?

You're definitely not crazy, I have the same ongoing problem with the Sony MDR-SA5000. In fact I just bought a new pair (new in box) from eBay for 200e - at that price I couldn't let them pass, even though things are tight this month!

This is now my third pair of SA5000s. Sold the first, missed them terribly, bought another pair, sold them again, missed them terribly again, so bought this third pair. Pretty sure I won't let them go again, but who knows?

Oh well, a man's gotta have a hobby right? :D

Damn, looks never used.
If only I had the money.....

I've had this with the RS1i, I sold it once, and the next day I was slapping myself for selling it and bought it again the same week.

I miss my RE0's... Just something about them.

  I miss RE0 as well a pinch.  And TF10.
Then I bust out any of my current 'phones and I forget all over again.

That doesn't make you crazy in the least. My first K501 was destroyed in flood and it was some time before a replacement came on the market at a reasonable price. I would exclaim, "I want my old headphones back!"

You're nuts for selling something you loved so much.

But not for LOVING those headphones.

No it's not wrong. I bought a K240 Studio about three years. I ended up getting rid of them for whatever reason, and ever since I gave them away I missed them. There was a magic to their sound to me. Fortunately, they aren't priced as high as those headphones, and I recently bought another pair over the summer. So glad I did.
