Is it possible to incorperate 2 or more op-amp chips in a single project?
If I wanted say eight channels of output and four channels of input would it be possible to use more than one op-amp chip? If so how many would I need?

If you're using stereo (double) opamps in DIP-8 packages, that's 2 channels per opamp. You said 4 channels input and 8 channels output, so that'd be 12 channels total, which equates to 6 stereo opamps.

I think he means 4 channels in branching into 8 channels out.
You don't need an opamp on each input as well as one on each output.

You can also get quad opamp ICs.

How exactly is this 4 in 8 out going to be configured? Do you want to be able to switch any of the 4 inputs to each of the 8 outputs? Need more info.

Well i mean with additional opamps can i have multiple inputs and outputs?
Is it possible to implament this so I can have two inputs for two CD players and to outputs for two headphones? If so, then it comes down to configuration with mabey a switch of some sort.
