Is it possible to remove the pads on DT880'06 for cleaning?

As i wanna give the pads on my DT880 06 model gentle cleaning, after some very hot and sweaty days here.
Is it possible - and if so - how do i go about it?
I did read the DT880 recable instructions somebody posted (sorry i forgot who) but it doesnt go into any detail on how to remove the pads. From my examination of the pads they look like they are fastened with some heatshrink like material to a plastic bevel.

you can remove the pads by gently pulling them of the ring is made of soft plastic which you can refit after you are done, just like changing a tire. Don't do it to ofter cause it might strech the plasic
