Is it just me, or are most "look at this new device" threads started by very new posters?

If you want to see shilling, go no further than mtbr.com. They recently got nailed by a member who blew the whistle and was banned, but not before posting proof the management and certain manufacturers there had dealings. Now the users are out for blood and ruining that manufacturer who also can't tell the truth for a second. The site management just doesn't know what to do, especially when they got caught lying about what the whistle blower was already circulating as screenshots.

Other things they have is one company with awful bargain-basement bikes at "direct to consumer savings" has 1 time posters doing the same for them to drum up conversation so the owner can swoop in and make himself look good.

It doesn't help that mtbr's parent company is a public corporation and that division loses hundreds of thousands a year.

A lot of the New! Improved! products are retreads of older designs and offer little audible improvement over previous models. Of course, manufacturers and the trade rags supported by advertising prefer that you buy new rather than carefully select the used.

Well you agree improvements are being made for computers, faster tech in a smaller box but don't agree that this translates into the audio world? I gotta say of course it does, whether or not you want to accept it is a different story. I think this boils down to the fact that a lot of people have invested quite a lot of money in their audio setup and don't want to believe that a plastic USB dongle can replace all that.

I'd love to see that "plastic USB dongle". I audition tons of new stuff and try to be on the lookout for new designs but all I see is the same things in different packages and usually of worse build quality.
