A while back, with high hopes, I ordered a modified linkwitz 'high -z' crossfeed board and parts kit from tangentsoft.

I assembled it all, but was not happy at all with the sound. It did work to collapse the soundstage, but it sounded bad. I understand that some differences in sound will occur, but it's nothing like my Total Bithead's crossfeed. It's like you took the electric guitar and spun all the tone controlls. It sounds muddy and stuff.

So was wondering if anyone else got one, and if it worked well and stuff. I might take it back apart and see if I got some kind of bad component or soldered over a trace or something. I really need a hardware crossfeed solution so that I can use it with vinyl and stuff.

No, I'll have to give that a go. Re: the caps, this is a sound quality difference that I don't think is attributable to caps, but I took it apart again today to quintuple-check that it's put together right. I guess it's just not for me. My Total Bithead has also gone belly-up on me with putting out noise and stuff.

Very Nice job...I think I've seen yours before. I'm guessing your CC has upgraded parts. Mine is a standard issue direct from Jan Meier. I'm very happy with mine.
