Someone is selling me a BP-2EX, Sony's proprietary battery for the D-25 & D 25S. It sounds like he has been using the battery since 1989. I was wondering if it was still chargeable.

I don't know if its Nickel Cadium, NiH or whatever. Please help.

Thanks

The battery comes with a D-25 I found.

But I already ordered a D-25S from ebay.

"And no, it probably won't hold a full charge by now."
So what would it hold? Half charge? 25% charge?(that's, umm... like 40 minutes...) Any charge?

I'll probably still get it because I've heard the D-25's gears run smoother and quieter. Plus it'd be nice to have them both.

Thanks for your help :)

LOL! I ordered both a D-25 and a D-25S too! The external battery pack that came with my (heavily used) D-25 was dead when I got it. The seller assured me that it worked the last time he used it (two years ago)

Anyway, I think that the lead-acids just slowly die over time. Enjoy the D-25(S)s!
