Iriver H140 Won't Play Apple Lossless?

As far as I know, WAV is the only lossless format supported on the iRiver players with the native firmware. Apple Lossless is definitely not supported as it's not an open standard and (as the name implies) is Apple-exclusive.
The Rockbox port for your device is fairly mature, I believe, and will allow you to play your files. Otherwise your only option is WAV if you want lossless.
