I do not own a H10, but an IriverT30 and I personally do not like the SRS (surround sound)settings of the T30 and the general tone of the Iriver.
there are these "boosts" on the EQ that change the sound too much.
I own a D2 and I find it a more natural sound.
On EQ I only use the standards like Rock, Jazz,Classics, or User. With User I have 10 memory slots I can save and reload whenever it is I want a tweaked EQ to fit the music I am listening at that time.
there is also the Normal EQ which is "flat" at zero.
And if you want more there are Megabass,MPE,and 3-4 other settings available. You can also PAN the sound from left to right to compensate for deficient or "special" hearing!
I find I have much more choice in EQ and they are readily available, not much manipulation, just a few menus to go into.
They need some time to setup but once that is set, it's OK.
The frequencies can be tweaked too, but I did not play with them yet!
