I just got this damn thing and ripped 2 cd's into it and then I tried to do some MP3's from from this site and it keeps freezing up!
I have to get a needle to press that reset button and then I get to my playlist and it freezes up again!

Has anyone had similar problems with these Irivers 20gb???
Should I swap it for another MP3 player??

I would. Without even blinking an eye. Sounds like those players have firmware issues, so if it were me....gonzo.

I've not had a single problem so far <<knock wood>> in three weeks. Dunno. Haven't heard any more than that. Using mine pretty heavily with -DRM files, so I'd have thought that I'd have a few hiccups there. Again, nothing <<knock wood>>.

I tried updating the firmware with my Karma and it led to the same sort of issues. When I reformatted the hard drive and went with a fresh copy of the latest firmware, it solved my problems. Seems my "firmware upgrade was corrupt".

Since you've only got a couple of CD's in her, I'd go that route or if it would give you peace of mind, send it back for a refund or replacement. Good luck.

I think its just your defective one...try replacing it?

Ive had mine since Janurary now, and ive loaded it (around 80% full) with all VBR mp3's, and its been fine. I used WMP and drag and drop for them, and have around 10 playlists.
