iRiver H10 broken UI

My iRiver H10's thumb slide is no longer functioning, last night I cleaned the surface with a little alcohol, and it isn't working this morning. I figure I might as well take it apart but has this happened to anyone else? The unit is about years old maybe 4-5 and si the 20gb version.

you might have "erased" the sensors with the alcohol. i would look on the www.misticriver.net forums to see if anyone else had a similar problem
