iQube V3 Headphone Amp Dac Preorder

The iQube V3 Preorder begins now...and as a Special Preorder Perk...we will ship a Free Silver Dragon IEM V1 LOD to Mini Cable...a $65 value!  We hope you can join us in Denver at the RMAF as we will have the iQube V3 available for Demo. Now with an Daul configured Coax Spdif/Analog input as well as a Toslink digital input. Both offering 24bit/192k resolution. The USB is still 16bit. The Dac and analog stage have both been improved over previous models. It sounds remarkable!!!

[size=x-small]The package of the iQube V3 will consist of:
 - 1 iQube V3, included 1000mAh rechargeable batteries (which is stronger than V2 was 850mAh)
 - 1 new specially designed Velcro/elastic strap (will fit any size)
 - 1 rubber elastic strap
 - 1 standard mini mini
 - 1 mini USB cable
 - 1 4-pole 3.5 mini jack to female RCA (for coaxial SPDIF input)
 -1 box

 Details

 Lightweight, portable Headphone amplifier
High efficiency (90-95%) Class D amplifier
Built in USB receiver and separate DAC
Tentlabs ultra low jitter clock generator
Runs on 4x AAA rechargeable batteries, non-user replaceable
8-fold output buffer for a (near to) load independent output behavior
4th order feedback loop for minimum distortion
Fixed, phase-shifted carrier wave oscillator decreases inter-channel distortion
Ultra low noise front end accepts any line level source without the need for impedance matching
 Top A-grade components used:

Medical graded double layer epoxy using HOFC (High Oxygen Free Copper)
Optimized board design enhances signal quality
 Alps potentiometer
Vishay series 036 decoupling capacitors throughout
 Panasonic stack film capacitors
 Carbon signal resistors
 Lumberg I/O connectors
 Fully RoHS compliant

Retro art design, CNC machined aluminum casing
 Rubber touch feel painted covers

[size=x-small]

 INPUTS:
 3.5mm analog
 3.5mm (4-pole) SPDIF
Coaxial SPDIF input (via provided accessory cable)
 Optical SPDIF
 Mini USB digital

 OUTPUT:
 3.5mm

Automatic digital detection on the 3.5mm input
and a rear side switch for selecting between 3.5 – USB or optical input
 Several USB sample rates conversion
 Full Hi-Res SPDIF inputs
Tentlabs ultra low jitter special clock design. All clocks (including the Class D clock) will be synchronized for optimum sound performance
The mechanical specification is the same as V2
The unit can be charged through mini USB, independently of input selection
Non user-replaceable AAA chargeable batteries used
 Volume knob indicator
Digital signal lock indication via ON/OFF LED

Further it will be the same electrical specification as the present iQube since they share the same class D amplifier stage.

Several improvements were made with regards to enhance the overall performance. Amongst other we have selected new digital components and we have changed several capacitors to better spec’d ones in the  analogue circuitry.
An on-board microprocessor has been added with own customized software for several control functions. For example to better control the charging cycle and the USB recognition of the iQube by both MAC and PC. The front LED’s are also controlled by the µp and it controls the ON/OFF switching behavior.
The 3.5mm input connector is a 4-pole mini and where the 4th pole is for the digital SPDIF input and the other 3 the analogue input. An accessory SPDIF cable 4-pole to female cinch comes standard with the iQube V3.

Does it work in the same way like the Fostex HP-P1 with the iPod/iPhone? I mean, could it be use as an iPod/iPhone DAC on the go or does it need a computer?

No the USB input is for computer connection only. So you can stream audio from a computer but it does not have an Apple chip to pass digital from an iPod. You can use it in combo with a Cypher Labs Solo to get digital from an iPod and then send digital out into the iQube V3 via the coax input. This combination is amazing.......
