iPod warranty help!

ok, my iPod doesn't work, well it does, but the hold button is on permanently and it won't switch off.

but to send it back will cost me 30 bucks!

however, i'm going to NYC in april, can i just go the Apple store and swap for a new one?

i'm still under warranty and all.

I did with the Palo Alto, CA store, but that was a year and a half ago. Also if they don't have any refurb equivalents in stock you'd also be out of luck. Why don't you call the store?

i thought if you were still under warranty apple will pay for the postage back to them?

that's what they do in the uk anyway...

I've had my iPod for more than 6 months, in the US if after 180 days your iPod has problem you hafta pay a 32 dollar postage fee
