Is everyone aware of Ipod's volume capping? I thought only Ipods sold in Europe are capped but America models are too, my friend got one and his is capped.
It sounds much much better after getting uncapped.
If you have never done this before, download GoPod from here and it will tell whether yours is capped or not, just click unlock and you will see how ridiculous Apple decides to enforce this restriction.
Restrict Ipod's volume to 70%. Mine sounds really loud after uncapped. This first applied to only Ipods sold in Europe as EU issued a new law to minimize the risk of damage its citizens' hearing
but for some reasons, some US Ipods are also capped
apparently my US ipod photo is capped. I left it that way since I find the volume to be plenty. With my Ety ER4Ps anything higher than 55% is too loud for me (all songs mp3gained to 89dB as well). I hear the EU Ipods are capped at 100dB at max volume, do people really need more?

Decibels are hardly a fixed scale when it comes to headphones, what's 100dB out of the stock Ipod phones might only be 70dB out of something else. It's a daft restriction, I'm glad there's a way to bypass it.
