I thinking about picking up a ipod touch 6G to use for listening to Spotify on the go, but I plan on stacking my Fiio E12 amp with it. I've seen lots of people talking about the "dongle", the lightning plug to 3.5mm adapter. What i want to know is, what would be the best method to hook up my E12 to the ipod? I will only be using Spotify, so do I just go the typical route using the headphone out into my amp, or should I get the dongle?
I'm also thinking about picking up an Oppo HA-2 for better sound quality, which I would be buying strictly for use with the ipod as well. Would the hook up be any different with that compared to my current E12? I just want to make sure I'm getting the best signal out of my current gear.
