Hey guys,

I'll try to keep things simple; my hp setup is currently iPod -> Go Vibe V6 -> Grado RS2 [see sig for full details].

I absolutley love my rig, but I know I'm missing the RS2s full potential.

I also know the RS2s full potential requires a nice CD player/turntable, and a table-top amplifier, but unfortunatly I do not have the money or circumstances for these things.

Rather, I would like to come closer to the RS2s full potential with a portable amp upgrade.

So I'd like to ask those of you with more experience than I have;

1] How much do you think I'm missing with my current setup? How much more sq is there to be had with the RS2s? [As far as portable setups go

] Is any sq gain worth the financial loss when I already have a GV6? Is my amp holding the cans back more, or the iPod?

2] What amp upgrade would you recommend to me? What portable amps synergize well with the RS2?

I personally do not believe that one should spend more on amplification than speakers/hps in an audio setup, so I have to ask that any portable amp you suggest be $400 or less.

Also, I would want an amplifier that runs both off batteries or out of the wall.

A built-in DAC would be ideal as well.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/advice/suggestions.

ps: any criticism like "you're an idiot combining ipod and RS2, sell the cans or get a real source" will not be productive to me. I know some of you have this stance. In any case, nothing here is changing except the amplifier [if even that.]
