Hey there everyone, first time post!

I'm looking for a new portable DAP, and am feeling the restrictions of OS X, and more specifically iTunes compatibility.

I hear the that Creative Vision series (I'm interested in the W) are simply not OS X compatible. And I hear that the PSP will not read the songs I download from iTunes.

I've had iPods, and currently have both a 2nd gen Shuffle and Nano, but was looking for something with a bigger screen, nicer interface, and video playback. Am I stuck with the iPod video (screen a litte small...), or perhaps something I haven't considered yet? I have heard of Cowon's and Meizu's around here but don't know too much about them.

songs that your purchase from iTunes will only work with iPods.

Cowon and Meizu players will show up as a removable drive, so you don't need software. However, they will not play any AAC files, DRM or not.

certain songs you purchase from itunes that are 1.30 are able to be played on any player that can handle aac which means that the psp can play it.

You can get an archos 404/504 as it has a pretty decent screen and relatively small size. Also, no need for software. Just drag and drop.

I bought a ZVW (60GB model) and got it in today. I'm waiting for it to charge up before I play around with it.

I have a ZVM that I plan on sending it back. I like it but I felt like I should have gotten the ZVW. Upon opening the ZVW's box, I know now that I made the right decision. I watched some of the videos on it and that screen is bad ass!

I copied the songs from my ZVM to my PC and hoping to transfer to the ZVW. I'm going to try to do a comparison between the two. I have a feeling, audio wise, they will be the same or too close to tell.

I've done more reading around here and online....I think I'm going to go with the Archos 604 for a PMP and keep the Nano around for ultra portable.

Before you commit to the 604, you better check out this link first. It was provided by another member in my ZVM vs ZVW thread.

Archos 605

Kinda sucks for me. I might have jumped on that if I caught that link before ordering my ZVW. That's ok. I think I'll just keep what I have and hope that by the time I get tired of it an want to upgrade, Creative will have their version of the 605.

I appreciate the advice from everyone....I was able to pick up an Archos 604 from Circuit City on the cheap, and look forward to getting the DVR dock and posting lots of pretty pictures for everyone to look at
