iPod: iFill

Interesting little Griffin app here. Requires iPod to be connected (copyright reasons?), but worth a try.

well since we can't get normal radio on the ipod, that looks like the next best thing - like a glorified Podcasting app. nice!

This looked promising so I tried it with my Photo 60GB - the songs it downloaded each played for a fraction of a second, then the next time I opened iTunes my iPod was unrecognized and I had to use the restore utility and resync all my music. I've been truly unimpressed with the quality of Griffin's software in the past so I should have known better (their hardware is usually pretty decent though).

On the other hand this did get me looking into alternatives and I found a program called RadioLover that actually does seem to work for me - it saves internet radio streams split automatically into separate tagged MP3s that are directly accesible by iTunes (instead of hidden on the iPod). The UI is pretty lousy but it does work...
