Well my 4G iPod finally went. the screen keeps coming up of an iPod and a warning triangle then switches to a battery screen. I've tried reseting. No luck. I have been on the fence about an iMod, so this might be the nudge I needed. Anybody buy inop iPods?

Maybe you can send it in to Vinnie and he'll fix and mod it for you.
He does repairs on iMods anyhow, and I bet that's just a bad battery problem.

My thoughts exactly. Hard to DIY and replace if you don't want scratches, but Apple will install a new one for $79. If you have nerves of steel, you can find higher capacity batteries for half that.

Then again, an imod sounds great. Bear in mind though, Apple will be replacing g5 ipods sometime soon. They've had a rebate program all summer on them, and the Taiwan manufacturer was quoted somewhere about new ones coming in late Sept (if you can believe it).

Well after repeated resets I kind of gave up and left the iPod connected to the laptop. After a while the screen came back in color. A couple of more resets and it mounted. I did a restore and it has been fine since. The battery seems to last longer.
I guess I'm glad it's back from the dead.......

Your docking cable may be the problem.

See ya
