iPod classic firmware update 1.1 is out.
I feel this time it should improve sound quality.

im not updating, last times i updated it screwed up my ipod and made me resync 15,000 songs, stopping every 1500 songs, never again!

Just make sure you click 'update', not 'restore'.

Easy and clean install on my 80gig classic

As far as i see, much better response of the cover/preview-animations in the menu (that was one major back-step in the last revision). Despite this, no major changes at all. Coverflow, while not noticeable faster, is as good as with 1.03
Actually i'm quite happy with the GUI speed and response

The update didn't have anything to do with sound quality, it was for movie rental support and some bug fixes.
It works fine BTW.

My iPod Classic ejects if I bump the cord while it's connected—it's so annoying! Unfortunately I bumped it while it was updating and I had to restore it to get the update to install. D:

But! It was worth it because coverflow is much faster and the UI is generally much more smooth and responsive. These were exactly the improvements I was hoping for in the next update.

My Classic 160g updated last night and everything went smoothly and working fine so far. Although I wish it had an option to turn off the clock/screen saver thing.

I wish it will be more controlled on bass and be bit more transparent, closer to my iMod 5.5G.
