So, I just made this account so I can get some input because people on this forum seems to be the most knowledgeable on the subject. I've been researching for ages and can't find a definitive answer to what the best amp would be for my ipod Video (Classic 5th Gen). I see a lot of people saying the ones like the Fostex HP P1 aren't compatible with it. I even read that the HiFi M8 isn't compatible with it. I want the top notch sound quality from my iPod and was wondering if someone could give me choices for my specific iPod with like a top 3 bets option that will definitely work. Or if you can give me an intro to these types of devices that is comprehensible enough for me to understand what I need. I get that only certain amps work with ipods, etc, etc. I just want a really good one no questions asked. Hope this make sens.e Really hope I can get some adequate answers given I'm forced to post in this forum even though I would have liked it in the Portable devices one. Not sure if someone will see this or not. Please help.

Whatever the device is look for the "Made for iPod" logo, if it has it then it should work. Now, if it came out after the regular iPod was phased out, that sticker could just mean it works with iOS, and the iPod it's referring to is the Touch. Usually these are the ones that have "Made for iPhone" stamped on it too, so if it does, email the manufacturer and ask if it works with the old iTunes firmware.
