I am going to be getting the 5gen Ipod (specifically the new 80GB model), along with a case - just not sure yet which case. I wanted to know if anyone had recommendations/experience for a good case to use with Grados - the Grado plug is a bit bigger than the plug for the stock earbuds, and I need to get a case that will accomodate the larger plug. These are Grado SR60's, so it is the standard miniplug that I am talking about - it's just that the black plug housing is bigger around than the stock plug housing, so I need a case that will allow for the larger size. I currently use a Contour Showcase with my 4Gen iPod, and the top opening is just large enough for the Grado plug.

Does anyone have experience with using the Grados with a 5G case - any suggestions?

) converter, they fit into the headphone jack nicely.

Contour Showcase, I have the 30GB, and the Grado 1/8-1/4 fits the Showcase model fine, their site shows the 80GB ver available, call them to verify if in dought, they are located in New Hamphire, so EST.

See you are located in Angel Fire, many years ago I lived in a small town in the mountains between, Penasco and Mora. Beautiful country.

To clarify...the Grado 1/8-1/4 adapter is the same size as the 1/8 mini on the SR60's.

I have a 30gb 5G iPod and the iSkin eVo3, the SR60s plug would not fit on my iSkin, the edges of the skin are a little thicker than the center of the headphone jack and the Grado jack wouldn't sit flush because of that. I guess the 80gb is thicker than the 30gb and therefore provides enough room to let the Grado plug sit flush. You can always get an Apple Radio Remote and use that with any case and not worry about the headphone jack being blocked.

BTW: http://www.emusic.com/iskin, anyone can get 100 free songs from eMusic.

I had to do a little trimming to get my line-out to fit correctly. Nonetheless, I like the fit and style of the iFrogz case. You can mix and match and come-up with your own styled case. The band around the player can get in the way.
