anyone tried using an iPAQ for music listening?
I have an iPAQ 1950, and that''s all i use for listening to music. i listen to it loud because for the noise on the bus, but it keeps killing headphones (i like bass

I use one as a throwaway source for DIY.

Are you asking if there's a new PDA that has quality output or are you soliciting a general audio replacement?

i was just asking if anyone else had used it, because i have one and it is far better then the mp3 player i've owned, even though it's not designed to be one. and i have no idea what to look for in headphones so that the bass won't kill them, that what i was asking. so it's a headphone replacement I'm looking for under $100.

If you like bass then I would look at the jvc fx33 marshmallows. they are about $20 and wal mart caries them.

X2. They are very nice...especially for the price!

If you're willing to spend more, Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro or Super.fi 5 EB might also offer the bass you're looking for.

I was at one point using a Dell Axim x51v as my portable player. Out of curiosity, what software are you using for music playback?

Its not an iPaq, but I use my Dell Axim everytime I travel by plane. Its a great media player. Does both MP3/WMA and movies very well. Well, the sound quality is pretty bad, but good enough with good quality earbuds.
