I know the iPad Air 4 just came out recently, are there any DAC/AMPs out there that support the USB=C connector and iOS (obviously the latest version of iOS as well)?

I just got one today and it works with my NX4DSD with just a basic usb c cable. Also works with my JDS Labs ODAC with the apple usb c to full size adapter.

So I’m liking this setup a lot. I’ve been using the iPad Air 4 with the Apple USB-C to full size USB adapter to my JDS Labs ODAC to a Schiit Audio Magni Heresy to my Focal Elear with Clear pads. Im using Spotify, but I also tested with Amazon Music Unlimited HD and the IPad would send up to 24/96 to the ODAC, so this setup is capable of high res but I could not make out any advantages in the sound, so I decided to just stick with Spotify. The Spotify app is leagues better anyway.

This setup is nice and I’m debating whether or not I want to spend the money on the Apple Magic Keyboard as well. The Magic keyboard is nice, my fiancé has it, but I’m not sure it’s worth the $300 to me. I do like the fact that the Magic keyboard has the USB-C port with the pass through to charge the iPad, this way I can charge and listen at the same time. So far the battery life on the iPad with the screen off sending music to the DAC is really good though.

I have JDS Labs The Element (first version) and iPad Air 4 and i cant get any sound from it. I have iPad 4 from 2012 and i dont have any problem with it. I tried few hubs and a direct type-c/type-c cables but nothing worked.

Did you have any issues with ODAC and iPad connection?

I don't have an iPad anymore but when I had it I had no issues with it and the ODAC.
