Hi,

I have been a member of HeadFi for quite sometime but this is my first post here. I really like the community here and love to read various thoughts and reviews, they have helped me make a lot of buying decisions over the past couple of years starting with Sony MH1C going up to my current Dunu DN 1000.

I currently reside in Vancouver Canada, moved here about a year ago. I am a Dentist by profession and love listening to to music all day long no matter what I am doing. I have been looking to get new IEMs for my commute to and from work and hope you fine folks can help me out.

My current IEMs are Dunu DN 1000, love the extension but I find myself more listening to the music on them rather than really enjoying it, I find it to be missing something (hope that makes sense). I think what I find missing on them are vocals, since I tend to listen to more acoustic genres and lyrical songs. I am looking to replace them for something that has a similar extension on both ends but more 'Fun' to listen to, the bass can be a little lesser too preferably. The headphones that I use currently are B&W P7 and love them.

Source would my Fiio X5 (1st Gen). Currently looking at the Earsonics Velvets and hoping to get more suggestions. I have owned Shure SE535s previously, the first time I heard them I was really taken by the way vocals were presented but as I used them more I found them to be lacking in extension and soundstage, so I sold them. Hope all of this helps.

Thank you.

Any reason why you aren't considering ciems? 700 usd is a great amount of money for a pair of customs from basically anywhere. I recommend the 1964 v6, though.

I had been considering CIEMs but a bit skeptical if I don't like the sound signature they would be pretty difficult to sell. 1964 ears had been on my shortlist but again I am not sure whether V6 would be a good match since from the reviews they seem to be a bit on the analytical side.

Yeah, even the universal I tried was extremely analytical and leaning on cold to my ears, you should try some of noble's offerings, I heard they had a few high end, warm iems.
