Mm..plan to change to the new amp from the 007Tii as well once proper reviews are published. I am intrigued by the initial impression that the new amp pairs better with the Chord Dave.

I don't like to say anything negative about it until I hear it myself. Stax have the expertise, the facility to build a great amp and lets face it, we love their 007s and 009s so it could be an exciting development we have here. I have read some posts on forums slating it already without specifics on the internals or actually hearing it. I don't respect such posts.

Mm...can someone translate this interview? Just a summary would be fine. Tia.

the gentleman talking is Suzuki-san (chief engineer of Stax)
  • Stax’s basic policy is “Wire with Gain”.
  • T8000 takes 3years of development.
  • all SS stage amps sound “cold” and Tube output stage has demerit of lesser output power etc so T8000 has tube input stage and SS output stage combined.
  • T8000 has DC servo circuit to tame thermal drift.
  • T8000 has cased toroidal power transformer. because amp has 60db gain. needed to avoid internal noise.
  • input 4 is connected to option slot. there is no specific plan.(probably DAC or phono EQer.)
  • tube parts are floated/isolated from outer vibration.
  • foots parts have also vibration isolation function.
  • Volume attenetor is shielded. tubes are also shielded. option slot is also shielded.
  • audiophile grade parts are used, results high price MSRP.
  • T8000 made for not only for 009 but also for all pro bias Stax HPs.
  • etc etc..
