NU Upgrades
The art of audio is about combining a lot of little details and fusing them together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Careful testing and fine-tuning gives the NU Audio Pro a more refined look and audio signature than its predecessor. Here’s a look at what’s new on the NU Audio Pro:

New Cover:

• The NU Audio Pro features a bold new cover design to remind you that this isn't your run-of the mill audio card.

Audio Note (UK) Seiryu (Azure Dragon) Capacitors:

• The Seiryu capacitors, exclusive to the EVGA NU Audio Pro cards, are the progeny of Audio Note's KAISEI Electrolytic Capacitor lineage. Made using a slightly modified production process, these capacitors were designed from the ground up to improve the audio at every frequency.

Tuning Audio Through Capacitors:

• The NU Audio Pro card also features AVX F95 audio tantalum capacitors to lower distortion, create a darker background, yet still give a dense lush feeling to the audio. The NP0 ceramic capacitors were replaced with Panasonic PPS types, to give a sweeter more natural treble. Combined, this gives an increased sense of air to wide-bandwidth recordings.

New Headphone Op-amp:

• Headphone lovers have not been forgotten. The NU Audio Pro Card features an LT1469 op-amp for the headphone out, which provides a lusher and more high quality sound to the audio, bringing out great dynamics and sound-staging without the edginess or rough sounding qualities of other op-amps.

RGB Lighting (NU Audio Pro only):

• The NU Audio Pro features a new take on RGB by offering three different RGB lighting zones on the side of the card. Each zone can be linked to the other two, while the two bars can be configured for audio reactive lighting to change dynamically with your audio playback.

Nahimic 3D Audio for Gamers
The NU Audio Pro Card is powered by nahimic with 3D Audio for Gamers, featuring nahimic’s groundbreaking virtual surround to enhance positioning. nahimic also brings several QoL enhancements, including a Quick EQ menu to quickly adjust audio, smart volume to limit volume fluctuation, and ambient noise suppression to play with confidence knowing that you will be heard clearly-in game.

With more channels comes great responsibility. That’s why the NU Audio Software received a makeover to allow for new configuration options, individual and linked channel volume controls, and a new page to control the RGB lighting on the NU Audio Pro.

Would actually be nice if pc owners can have solutions that doesn't clutter their desk, but even more when putting it inside would actually give it quite a high bandwidth path knowing it uses PCIE.

Now the stigma around it is of course, putting audio as internal component is noise hell. As, well, tons of moving parts in a pc, most prominently the fans, and of course electrical noise itself.
How does it fares on that?

So far the only mentions of proper shielding seems to only be that "NU Audio Pro Cards feature a uniquely designed and EMS-shielding backplate that will set your system apart." part... What does "apart" mean? Is it that orange tingy?

And by god please tell me orange is not the only color.
I have no other component that's colored orange in my system. Black, or red is a bit more widely used "gaming" peripherals color

Some ITX boards allow Bifurcation but support is sketchy at best and I would probably avoid it for clean audio. But it MAY be possible. I was considering this in my Small Form Factor PC but in the end things are tight enough in there without me trying to fit another PCIE card in there

Well, it depends on what you need. If you need the multi-channel analog surround, then yes, you'll need a minimum of 2x PCIe slots. If you just need the stereo version of the Pro, we will eventually be selling both cards separately.

I am currently a Creative Sound Blaster ZXR card owner. I would like to be part of a test group for the new EVGA NU Audio Pro card. I own high end audio equipment, so I would be love to give an honest review of the NU AUDIO PRO 7.1. I own several opamps, including LME49710HA and LME7920HA metal cans, as well as Burson Audio V6 Vivid Single and V6 Vivid Dual opamps as well. I am currently using the V6 Vivid single and dual opamps in my ZXR card. I would like to test the EVGA card with these opamps in it.

It still using external Power supply line ?

Yes. The mainboard card (Pro) uses a SATA connector still. The daughterboard (Pro Surround) receives power through the PCIe slot and a mini-DisplayPort connector, which must be connected to the mainboard via a mini-DisplayPort cable.

Yes, it's part of the Nahimic DSP, which can be toggled on or off.

I guess I'm in the minority but I would have preferred a digital coaxial output rather than a toslink optical. But I know this is just for gaming and not music listening.
Perhaps eVGA will make a card dedicated to 2ch audiophile music listening.
