So, out of the Box, the A2 is narrower and shallower with forward vocal, but after 75 hours and it started opening up! After 200 hours and it is very much wider, deeper with better vividity and dynamic than A1.
Sound signatures is a bit different, less sub bass decays and blooms than A1, a little leaner than A1 but overall remaining Shanling signatures
However, the best of A2 is that it synergies so well with the KORG tubes !!!! Now I observe a much better width and depth with Korg tubes than the A1 was under this mode. This makes the M30 an amazing piece of portable system. I can easily picking it up and bring it around with me when needed. KORG tubes remains the classic tubey timbres and liquidity, sweet and not muffled! Pretty engaging and touching
This is observed with my Hd800S.
@Shanling Please!!! Address the 1-2 seconds skipping at the beginning of the song. It seems there is a period for the transistors turning on and the firmware introduced a “mute period” that overlaps it when the silent period of the beginning of the song was very short, the mute happened and invades into the 1-2 seconds skipping when the track changed toward the next ? Maybe not, because when the timer starting out at 00:00, my song is already skipped. There is probably a delay transitions between the Digital and processor module somehow
I used to dislike KORG Tubes out of the A1 module, but the A2 module has transformed the M30 to be the best KORG tubes experiences that I have ever came across from any portable up to this point and that it mimics the classic tubes very well. It does much better than the Cayin C9 in retaining and mimicking the classic tubey goodness.
