they are rather microphonic, as well as the connectors. DCA cables aren’t though and well worth the money sonically to my ears.
That reminds me. One of the things that Meze 99 classic users have noted is that the reverb of the steel bands make the headphones very bad for listening on the go as a pair of headsets. Now, the idea of using DCA as headsets seem impractical (either using ModMic or find a pair of Hirose to 3.5mm adapter and then use the Meze Boom mic cables), but this does resolve the microphonics coming from the metal bands.
As an aside, would the fine folks at DCA consider making their own take of the Meze Boom mic for less then dozens of us madmen who would even entertain the thought of using these as headsets...
