I really like these so far. I find the tuning different from what I'm used to but the LUNA really wins when it comes to soundstage and imaging. Very impressive set!
Review is up for those curious on my thoughts with the LUNA.

Hi all, I have received the Dunu Luna loaner unit, I'm based in Sydney, Australia. As always, I will put the IEM into my own specific burning tracks (it is a mixture of high dynamic music and various other industry standard tracks).
I'm glad Luna came out, it for sure allowed Dunu to obtain many new insight on how to deal with such driver. I'm looking at Dunu EST113 and I'm going to make a prediction, here it is: Dunu will be the first IEM manufacters which will release an EST, Beryllium hybrid IEM.

I support this bet as well! What a combo that would be for the next TOTL from Dunu!

Luna is very source sensitive. I just had a quick listen with the following daps:
- HM1000: Sounded too slow and warm.
- WM1A: Soundeded underpowered, and the higher listening volume which provided the dynamics I cared for, was simply too loud.
- P6: Sounded balanced, open, but lacked bass punch.
- Lotoo Paw Gold: Perfect match for Luna to my taste. People complain that Luna lacks punch, they need to pair it with LPG. I can't think of a IEM that paired so nicely with LPG.

My best match with Dunu Luna has been the Ibasso Dx300 w/ amp11. Gains so much punchiness relative to other sources.

How does Luna compare to A8000. I recall from memory, A8000 is more open and has better soundstage, more suitable for classical music, whereas Luna is just amazing for vocal jazz.My best match with Dunu Luna has been the Ibasso Dx300. Gains so much punchiness relative to other sources.

Final a8000 sounds similar regardless of source for me. And doesn't respond to EQing to fix the treble. Probably due to its aggressive acoustic tuning.
The a8000 vocals is its major strength as you said. Since the acoustic design makes sure it doesnt compete with the rest of the sound. It stays forward unsupressed no matter the bass or music complications. Really clear. Only strange thing, is vocals sound louder when it comes from the sides, but sound bad when it is presented to you in a center between your ears.
Only downside to the a8000 vocal is the unfixable S-pronounciation, which I believe is tied to the chamber acoustics. I even tried using physical treble filtering ozly eartips to try and filter it out and it remained. So it's some kind of resonance issue.
A8000 graphs by people to show it has less mid-treble than the Luna. The a8000 does in use.
The a8000 does come back up in late treble to give a sizzle to instruments in the late treble.
Bass decays really natural on the Dunu Luna, and scales in punchiness depending on source. On the a8000 bass is very clean and fast and quick to disappear, but not in a non-satisfying way. And it sounds this way no matter the source.
A8000 is not an all rounder like the Dunu Luna. Really good for metal music with pushed back vocals. It compensates well for the compression introduced into Metal like stuff.
For complicated vocal jazz stuff...The a8000 does this fine because the jazz vocals are usually recorded to suppress those high pitches like the S-pronounciation. Voices are usually deeper
But the Dunu Luna wins for jazz in the end due to the bass punchiness and the relatively more natural decay. Also the Luna is more dynamic overall, not neglecting anything on the stage...and doing it without sounding compressed.

@Infoseeker : thanks for your feedback. Stock cable on both Luna and A8000?
I have both iems. Reverted to stock cable on Luna after some time with a Hulk, but kept CEMA Tianwaitian (Twt) on the A8000. If I had a second one, I'd have probably paired it with Luna too as synergy was also very good.
The Twt seems to enrich A8000's signature, allowing them to be much better all rounders, at a strong listening level to boot. They retain their openness and precision while gaining warmth in the mids and weight in the lows.
Sibilance only occurs when it is present in the mix.
I've spent the last three months listening to them with Twt on LPG + Continental v5 first, then DX300 since mid February. Getting a huge kick at whatever music genre I'm playing, to the point where they've become my favorite inears.
Here are a few examples of what I like playing lately: Altin Gün, Amon Tobin, Andrew Bird, Béla Fleck, Arianna Savall, DakhaBrakha, Eric Legnini, Fink, Frank Riggio, Goopsteppa, Indian Classical (North & South), Jan Garbarek, Joël Grare, Kate Bush, Khruangbin, Kodo, Ondekoza, Laura Marling, Marian Hill, Michel Portal, Nenad Vasilic, Pauseland, Radiohead, Recondite, Sons of Kemet, Tipper, Tony Allen, Tool, Yom, Wang Li, Amira Medunjanin, Anne Paceo, Arvo Pärt, Mélanie de Biasio, Led Zeppelin, Mayra Andrade, John Surman, Blundetto, everything ECM and ACT.
I'll spend time with Luna again, to get the feel of them and see if I appreciate them on other genres than acoustic or mid centric music.

I am using a SuperBax cable on the a8000. Maybe I should play with that. But I feel the best solution would be to find a way to get an extra deep fit on the A8000 to shift the treble. (If it isn't a resonance problem from the internal chamber structure)
With the default cable for the Luna. It's a nice cable.

Hi guys, I will post my full impression in 3 weeks time. I had some last-second family emergency that needs my attention. For anyone based in AUS, feel free to reach out to me Dunu if you like to try the Dunu Luna. I'm based in Sydney but please reach to Dunu first and once they okay the audition I will ship it. Otherwise, I will be shipping the demo unt back to Dunu in 4 weeks time.
