So it doesn't sound like it would be ideal for classical and jazz but poor for rock metal?

Well, Rush in high-resolution sounds excellent on LPG

Finally got a reply from Lotoo:

Thanks for your feedback for our PAW Gold.

When the PEQ in PAW Gold is turn on, PAW Gold converts DSD to PCM.

If any other question, please feel free to let us know. Have a nice day!

Hi guys. I decided to ask the respected community. Just do not shower tomatoes. I understand the whole strangeness of the question.
I am plagued by vague doubts about the purchase LPG. I want to know your opinion.
    I have Cowon p1 for 300$+- I can(want) buy for 1000$+-
Is the game worth the candle? If not yet in stock matching headphones.
Or do not fall into audiophilia?:k701smile:

I LOVE my Lotoo PAW Gold! Built like an industrial strength tank (well, except for the propensity for early ones to have their display gradually fail to faded pink, which I got replaced, and its propensity to have its headphone output break its solder connection if leveraged by a straight-in headphone jack...use the right angled ones!), with a nearly instant-on response, a great parametric equalizer, absulutely superb sound and overwhelming power, it is my favorite.

Have you ever dropped ot onto a sidewalk and hand a person kick it 10 yards down the sidewalk in the rain ?
  7. ruthieandjohn
No, but I think it would survive that as long as it was in its case.

I already have the Sony NW - W M1A. I am now choosing between a Lotoo Paw Gold 2017 or a Sony NW - WM1Z... decisions, decisions.
  9. TremWolod
I wonder what the differences between them sony and lpg. Or just sony smoother and lpg straightforward?
  10. jmills8
And Sony needs to be used in 4.4 balanced.

No response from the 1Z seller. It is looking like LPG 2017 most likely.

I immediately wanted LPG, and I was lucky to find in 2017, which I look forward to when I come. It seems that LPG is a bit more neutral and lighter than Sony. Maybe Sony more bass or deeper.
Still, Sony is much harder, more expensive and more balanced.
    Maybe some more?

With the proper use of PMEQ, you can get pretty close to the sound of the Sony.

It seems here you can find "gold" sony for the price of a new lpg 2017

That may be true but it's nice going through an authorized dealer and having a full warranty.
