Has anyone used the LPG with JHA Roxanne II? If so with what results?

I don't have the JHA Roxanne II. I do have a CIEM Roxanne I with Black Dragon TRRS that I use to pair with the HM901S Balanced Card. IMO: a 'warm' HM901S with a 'warm' Roxanne is fantastic sounding but left me wanting a bit more for the bite of trumpets, cymbals, high piano notes, etc. Again, IMO I do think that the HM901S is just a terrific sounding DAP otherwise. However, because of the lack of sufficient high frequency energy from this combo, I decided to test buy the LPG and compare to the HM901S using just my Roxanne (with stock TRS cable) for the comparison. If the LPG didn't cut it I would return it. The LPG brought to the Roxanne I the bite of trumpets, high piano notes, etc. without any trace of sibilance. For me, the Roxanne I and LPG combo seem to have all the great sound quality attributes of the HM901S but with just the right amount of treble energy for the 'warmer' Roxanne I. I am definitely keeping the LPG and happily I might add. Me? :D. My wallet?

Brilliant another lpg owner. For me it's been such a dap climb to get to the lpg or "little pot of gold".
I am a  QPR1 owner at the present but even though  the SQ is excellent the UI and reliability isn't. Its switched itself off 3 times in the last week while I've been out and about - and not because of low battery. I think AK products are quite nice but overpriced and SQ isn't as good as QPR1 IMO, so LPG may be the DAP I'm looking for, though at the price I'll need to demo it.

Hello everyone!

First time to post here. Been lurking this thread for a long time and i need some help.

I come from a city where it is very hard to test hardware before buying so after reading this thread, i decided to buy the LPG online. The problem is i am not happy with how it sounds. The sound is very brittle And is highly fatiguing (honestly my iphone sounds better). The vocals is very recessed and nasally but i cannot turn the volume up without hurting my ears. Tried breaking it in for upto 200hrs without much success.

Is my unit faulty or could this be a pairing issue?

I am using a12s for 64 audio. I tried it on my momentums and its the same thing (although to a lesser degree). The a12s paired great with my dx80 and chord mojo.

Are you sure you have your Effect:OFF on LPG?  I'm using U12 with LPG, among other IEMs/CIEMs, and with an exception of Mojo have majority of other popular DAPs, and don't hear brittle/fatigue/recessed/nasal unless I'm using other headphones with inferior sound sig.  But I do recall playing around with LPG effects, forgot to turn off one of the ATE presets, and it took me a few days to realize why my Gold sounded like crap :)

Hi there, welcome to the club! I have to agree with @twister6 , the PG may be the LEAST brittle DAP I have listened to. I feel the same about the mids, I wouldn't call it too mid forward but it's definitely not recessed... Any other players or DACs you can compare with?

As Twister suggests, you could have one of the effects turned on which describes what you hear, but that seems unlikely.  At the same time, I would urge you to play around with the PMEQ some.  After a few attempts I was able to create a setting that makes it among -- if not the -- best sounding DAP I've ever heard.  Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you the settings I'm using.

Hello , i know that what for ones is a good sound reprodution for others is not so good or has good, but if anyone says that the PawGold sounds bad is obvious that or the Lotoo is on warming period or it has some thing turned on that shouldn't be , it has almost the analogue sound of the Tera player but with much more sub-bass and power, the only thing that may be sholder to sholder is my duo ak240 and mojo

I suggest clicking on the "LOTTO PMEQ" link in my signature and try installing and using that. In my view, the LPG requires a slight rebalancing of treble and mids to address treble fatigue. With this tweak, it is my favourite DAP.

Hello @twister6. Thanks for the help. I'm sure that the effects are off. I wonder if it's just my unit since were both using the same iem.

P.S. Reading your reviews made me decide to get the a12. Thanks! :thumbsup_tone2:

@cooperpwc wow! I just used your settings and its helping a lot. Big difference. Will do more listening.

I have the LPG and 64 Audio U12. Strangely, I find the pairing to be very good and not fatiguing at all. It has the requisite bass and sub-bass impact and the treble is never sibilant. The ADEL module is supposed to make sure that the iem is not fatiguing and IMHO it works.

Hmm.. This is concerning. My unit might have a problem. Did you do any eq?
