@HairOhWin Blast, @Doctordoom16 thanks for your comments. Have to decide between CL2, Obravo Cupids and IMR RHA (blind bet!!)
O maybe get them all and be done for quite a while!!!

My experience is when the track calls for bass, plenty of bass is delivered. I know someone who auditioned my cl2's several times over coffee, then decided against getting them because he thought they had too much bass!

Too much bass?! That’s the first time I’ve heard that criticism levelled at the CL2s!
  4. szore
I was surprised too. But I think my friend prefers more of a midrange emphases.

I have the DSD album and this song came on, I instantly had to do a double take, the whale sounds and waves in the ocean sounded exactly like the real thing.
The timbre on the CL2 is so natural that sometimes it's just plain scary., sometimes sounds like I am not listening to an IEM at all. Like there is nothing in my ears...spooky.

these planar bass is very well done , in no way to much :) :)

Too much bass? Compared to what? The senn hd800?
The bass on these is so very natural, and depending on what you normally use (Sony I'm looking at you!) Others are bass enhanced. These are not bass enhanced. But w rap they can sound lessbassy as most rap is made to be used w bass enhanced gear. These Rock w all genres and only give you what is in the recording, for good or for bad (bad dynamic tracks sound not so good!)

also source depended .. they slam harder with my cowon as with the dx120

Bass on the WM1A and Benchmark 3 hits very hard when the track calls for it. Brain massage level on some EDM tracks.
The only genre where the CL2 is less than ideal is Rap. It's too accurate, and lays bare the poor mixing (especially the newer stuff).

Exactly, old Tupac though, sounds pretty damn good.

lol, Check out beez in tha trap by Minaj...

That actually sounds crazy!! 4D tripping out music.
So if it's mixed right, the CL2 slays it....murders it honestly regardless of genre.

+ that is a lot of plastic surgery and weaves, I don't think anyone knows what she really looks like.

Another note, the IER-Z1R, Back in the box and shipped off, :)
